The Goedkens

Stinson Beach, CA September 2003

I recently went on a trip to San Francisco for a friend's wedding.  It was a beautiful ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  A number of us stayed at a beach house in Stinson Beach.  There was a large hill we could see just above our house.  I couldn't resist giving it a little hike to the top.  The pic above is from that climb.  It was only about 1500 ft tall, but we worked up a good sweat getting to the top.  Driving on highway 1 north of San Francisco is not fun in anything but a sportscar- twists and turns everywhere.  Coming in town, I hit a deer around one turn.  I was only going about 20mph, so Bambi just bounced off my bumper without doing any damage.  Damn fauna.

Early on Saturday we all took a walk on the beach.  The air was crisp, but the fog was beginning to burn off.  The sound of the waves breaking was impossible to avoid.

The next pic is from my hike, and the last is taken from the spot the wedding was.
